Arrey Obenson

Organizational Strategy, Business Development & Civil Society Leader | CEO & Partner, Transformunity

Arrey Obenson is an internationally recognized leader in organizational strategy, business development, and civil society—an accomplished lawyer, nonprofit executive, humanitarian, systems transformer, business strategy consultant, and author of Bridging the Opportunity Gap. His acclaimed book reflects a core philosophy: genuine growth happens when organizations harness their opportunities rather than focus on their challenges—a principle that drives his strategic approach. For more than two decades, he has mobilized people and organizations worldwide through bold strategy, visionary leadership, and hands-on international advocacy, philanthropy, and community transformation. As former Secretary General of Junior Chamber International (JCI), he led one of the world's largest youth leadership networks, shaping strategy and forging partnerships with the United Nations, Fortune 500 companies, and grassroots movements across 124 countries. Under his stewardship, JCI became an early champion of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, embedding them in the work of more than 1,000 communities worldwide. Later, as President and CEO of the International Institute of St. Louis, he transformed a regional agency into a national model for immigrant integration and economic vitality—tripling its budget and launching high-impact initiatives that garnered global media attention. Today, as CEO and Partner at Transformunity, he consults with organizations and corporations on strategic planning, organizational transformation, and executive coaching. A sought-after keynote speaker, he has addressed audiences in more than 100 countries, including the International Small Business Congress in South Africa, AIESEC World Congresses, the Global Business Expo in Dubai, Welcoming America, the UN Foundation's Nothing But Nets, and the SHRM St. Louis Annual Conference.
