AGTA was founded in Canada out of the AfriCanada Expo — a single convening that revealed how much trade capacity sat unconnected between African producers and global buyers. What began as an expo is now a permanent institution: chambers in twenty countries, quarterly trade missions, an accredited academy, and a verified marketplace.
Our work is infrastructure, not advocacy. We build the ecosystems, partnerships and intelligence that turn opportunity into shared prosperity.
The Africa Global Trade Alliance is a Canadian-founded trade institution operating across twenty countries. It exists to make African commerce legible, verified and transactable to global counterparts — and to give African producers an institution that carries the follow-through after the meeting ends.
The alliance runs on five pillars — Events, Chambers, Trade Missions, the Trade Academy and the Trade Hub. Each operates as its own programme with its own infrastructure, and each feeds the other four: an officer trained through CTO+ becomes a verified counterpart in the directory, a Connecta match is convened at an AGTA event, and a deal signed there is documented and shipped through a Trade Hub desk.
National chambers, led by appointed Country Directors, hold the relationships on the ground. AGTA HQ holds the standard — one charter, one verification bar, one credential that means the same thing in Accra, Edmonton and Nairobi.
To build the permanent ecosystems, partnerships, intelligence and infrastructure that connect African trade with global markets and turn opportunity into shared prosperity.
Africa as a market of abundance and global relevance — an equal counterpart in every trade corridor it enters.
Institutional in conduct, commercial in outcome, human in method, future-facing in ambition.
